Eat too much this Holiday?  Want to look great (better) by New Year’s Eve?  Here are a few tricks to get you started:

Salty foods can cause water retention, leading to bloating.  Cut out salty snacks like pretzels, popcorn and condiments like soy sauce and ketchup.  Also soups can be a great low calorie meal but is loaded with sodium, especially when adding SALTines!  Try to skip the crackers and go with a low sodium version of your favorite soup.

This one is a little harder with all of the cookies laying around, try to limit your sugar for the next few days.  It may be easier than you think after cookie overload.  Try filling up on high protein foods like oatmeal, lean meat and cottage cheese.  Bring those cookies into work or to your neighbors, it just may brighten their day and, in turn, yours!

Other ways are squeezing in that extra exercise so you can squeeze into that sparkly dress!  Don’t forget to drink plenty of water to flush all that salt and to fill you up enough not to fill up your plate!

Want to burn an extra 100 calories fast?  40 jumping jacks, 30 crunches, 20 squats and 10 push ups!  Do this first thing in the morning and last thing at night and burn 200 extra calories a day!  That was breakfast!  Or your skinny latte..

Have a Happy (Healthy) New Year!  Cheers!
